Dean Ellis

Senior Aerodynamics Engineer at Hermeus

Dean Ellis has worked for several companies since 2009. Dean began as an Undergraduate Research Assistant at Texas A&M University in 2009, then became a Graduate Research Assistant in 2012, working both computationally and experimentally. In 2016, they became President of Levitation Transport Technologies LLC. In 2018, they moved to SpaceX as a Propulsion Integration & Test Engineer. In 2019, they took a role as a CFD Research Scientist at Oak Ridge National Laboratory, where they were responsible for the analysis of a next generation dryer prototype and a mercury target at the Scattering Neutron Source facility. Currently, they are a Senior Aerodynamics Engineer at Hermeus.

Dean Ellis received a Bachelor of Science in Aerospace, Aeronautical and Astronautical Engineering from Texas A&M University in 2011 and a Doctor of Philosophy in Aerospace, Aeronautical and Astronautical Engineering from Texas A&M University in 2017.
