Shams Khalil

Shams Khalil has seven years of work experience in the aerospace engineering field. From 2013 to 2014, they were an AOE Student Ambassador at Virginia Tech. From 2014 to 2015, they were an Undergraduate Researcher at the Nonlinear Systems Lab at Virginia Tech and the Aerospace Multidisciplinary Design Lab. From 2015 to 2018, they were a CFD Engineer/Aerodynamicist at TotalSim LLC. From 2018 to 2022, they were an Aerophysics Engineer at United Launch Alliance (ULA). From 2022 to 2023, they were an Aerodynamics Engineer at ABL Space Systems. Currently, they are a Senior Aerodynamics Engineer at Hermeus.

Shams Khalil has a Bachelor of Science (BS) in Aerospace, Aeronautical and Astronautical Engineering from Virginia Tech, which they obtained in 2015. Shams is currently pursuing a Master of Engineering - MEng in Aerospace, Aeronautical and Astronautical Engineering at the University of Colorado Boulder, which they are expected to complete in 2024.
