John Russell

John Russell has a diverse work experience in the pharmaceutical and biotech industry. John has served as the Director of National Accounts at Heron Therapeutics, Inc. since July 2023. Before that, they worked as an Area Business Manager at the same company, where they were responsible for clinical selling, contracting, payer strategies, and reimbursement for an oncology injection.

Prior to Heron Therapeutics, John worked as a Regional Business Manager at Shire, where they focused on sales and reimbursement for rare disease drugs. John also collaborated with internal partners to ensure alignment on goals and implementation of marketing initiatives.

Before Shire, John worked at Dendreon Corporation as a Corporate Account Manager and Immunotherapy Sales Specialist. John'sresponsibilities included managing corporate accounts and driving sales of immunotherapy products.

John also has experience at Affymax as a Nephrology Account Consultant, where they launched a new product and performed sales and contracting for dialysis organizations.

Prior to Affymax, John held various roles at Questcor Pharmaceuticals, Ferg LLC, Biogen Idec, and Ortho Biotech. These roles included regional sales management, founding their own consultancy, and various sales and management positions in the pharmaceutical industry.
