Eliza Spear, PWS, is a seasoned professional in environmental science with extensive experience in ecology and education. Currently serving as a Senior Ecologist and Project Ecologist at Herrera Environmental Consultants since April 2018, Eliza's previous roles include Project Scientist at JS Jones and Associates and Land Manager at Refugia Design. Eliza's background also includes a position as a North American Language and Culture Assistant with Junta de Castilla y León and providing educational programs as a Teacher Naturalist at Delaware Nature Society. Eliza's work with the US Forest Service as a Field Ranger involved leading educational hikes and sustainability programs. Eliza's research experience at the Institute for Integrative Bird Behavior Studies focused on the effects of mercury on Zebra Finches, and a research grant from Howard Hughes Medical Institute supported project work that led to publication. Eliza holds a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Science from William & Mary and a Certificate in Wetland Science and Management from the University of Washington.
