Katie J. has a diverse work experience in the legal field. Katie started their career at Blake, Cassels & Graydon LLP as an Associate, where they focused on corporate commercial practice in the oil and gas, midstream, and renewable energy industries. Katie also worked with clients in the liquefied natural gas (LNG) industry on various corporate/commercial project matters. At Herschel Supply Company, Katie served as the Head of Legal & Corporate Secretary, where they advised on legal matters across different business units and managed global sales. Katie also led the Impact (ESG) team, focusing on the company's conscious products strategy, climate journey, social supply chain, and community efforts. Later, they became the SVP - Legal & Impact at Herschel Supply, overseeing the Legal & Impact (ESG) Teams and continuing to provide legal advice and leadership in expanding the company's retail store footprint.

Katie J. pursued their education by first attending Western University from 2002 to 2006. During this period, they earned a Bachelor of Management and Organizational Studies (B.MOS) degree. Following their undergraduate studies, Katie went on to enroll in the University of Alberta from 2007 to 2010. Katie completed their studies there and obtained a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) degree from the Faculty of Law.
