Jared Lorince, PhD has extensive work experience in various roles related to software engineering, data intelligence, and research. Before joining StumbleUpon, Jared was a Graduate Student Researcher at Indiana University Bloomington from August 2010 to August 2016. Jared'swork there focused on developing models of online music listening and tagging behavior, as well as building web scrapers for data collection and developing analytic approaches using Python, Graphlab Create, and Spark.

Furthermore, Jared gained research experience as a Research Scientist Student at Yahoo! Labs from July 2011 to March 2012, as a Research Assistant at Sonoma State University from August 2009 to February 2010, as a Research Assistant at Concepts & Cognition Lab - UC Berkeley from August 2008 to May 2009, and as a Research Assistant at Computational Cognitive Science Lab - UC Berkeley from August 2008 to May 2009. Jared also worked as a Research Assistant at Universidad Complutense de Madrid from March 2008 to July 2008.
