Michael Purvis

Michael Purvis has extensive experience in the chemical industry, currently serving as the Technology Leader for Core Business and Growth at Hexion Inc. since 2012, where leadership encompasses development and support for America's core business and product development with a team of chemists and engineers. Prior positions include Group Leader at Momentive Specialty Chemicals, where support and new product development were provided for a large resin business, and Group Leader at Hexion Inc., focusing on new product development and material characterization. Earlier roles included managerial positions at Reichhold, Alcatel, and Pilkington, where significant advancements in product development, cost reduction, and efficiency improvements were achieved. Michael Purvis holds a PhD in Chemistry from Virginia Tech and a BS in Chemistry from Appalachian State University.
