La Monte Yarborough

La Monte Yarborough is an experienced cybersecurity professional currently serving as the Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) at the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) since January 2022. Prior to this role, La Monte served as CISO at HHS Office of Inspector General from January 2020 to January 2022, and held CISO positions at the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Headquarters and FEMA from 2012 to 2019. La Monte’s earlier experience includes a Deputy CISO role at DHS's Risk Management Division and a Senior Information Systems Security Officer at TWD, along with over two decades of active duty in the U.S. Army. La Monte holds a Master’s degree in Cybersecurity from Webster University and a Master’s degree in Information Assurance from Strayer University.
