Jennie van den Boogaard

Marketing Officer at HIAS

Jennie van den Boogaard is a marketing officer at HIAS. Prior to their current position, they served as the director of development at Rape Victim Advocates from October 2017 to May 2018. In this role, Jennie led the organization in creating a culture of philanthropy and served as a key member of the Leadership Team, overseeing the development department. Jennie supervised a Marketing and Communications Associate, Development Assistant, contractual Grant Writer, and intern program.

In their previous role, Jennie collaborated with the Executive Director to develop and implement an annual strategic development plan. Jennie also worked with the Marketing and Communications Associate to create an annual strategic media, public relations, marketing, and communications plan. Additionally, Jennie researched grant opportunities and worked with a grant writer to write letters of intent, proposals, and reports for foundation partners.

Since joining HIAS, Jennie has been integral in developing and executing marketing plans that have increased awareness of the organization and its mission. Jennie has also created and launched several successful fundraising campaigns that have generated significant revenue for HIAS.

Jennie van den Boogaard has a Bachelor of Science from Northwestern University in Education and Social Policy. Jennie also has a Master of Science in Political Science from the University of Amsterdam with a focus in Public Policy. Additionally, Jennie has a Master of Science in Sociology from the University of Amsterdam with a focus in Gender and Sexuality Studies. Jennie also has a certification from the University of Amsterdam in Classical Sociological Theory. Finally, Jennie is certified as a Rape Crisis Counselor/Medical Advocate from Rape Victim Advocates.
