Kabir Mohamed's work experience includes being the Director of Recruitment & Admissions at Hiawatha Academies since 2021. In this role, they successfully increased recruitment efforts and built partnerships with community organizations. Prior to that, from 2014 to 2021, Kabir worked at the University of Minnesota, where they served as the Director of Student Engagement and also as the Interim Assistant Director in the International Student and Scholar Services department. In these positions, they developed strategic partnerships, oversaw communication strategies, and advocated for international students. Additionally, Kabir held various roles at Minneapolis Community and Technical College from 2007 to 2014, including Director of the American Indian Success Program, Director of the Educational Talent Search TRIO Program, Interim Dean of Students, and Director of the Power of YOU Program. In these roles, they led collaborations, established partnerships, and designed support models for students.
Kabir Mohamed holds a Master of Arts degree in Organizational Leadership and Management from The College of St. Scholastica, which they completed from 2007 to 2009. Kabir also obtained a Bachelor's degree in International/Global Studies from the University of Minnesota, where they studied from 2000 to 2004. In addition, Kabir has acquired various certifications, including Scrum Master Certified from Scrum Alliance in July 2023 and Certified Qualified Administrator from INTERCULTURAL DEVELOPMENT INVENTORY, LLC (IDI, LLC) in 2019. Kabir has also obtained certifications in Mind-Body Medicine from The Center for Mind-Body Medicine and is a Healing Justice Coach from Joi Unlimited, Minneapolis Minnesota. Furthermore, Kabir is a Qualified Neutral Mediator through the Conflict Resolution Center.
