Maria Norton

Maria Norton, SPHR-CA, has an extensive work experience in the field of human resources. Maria started their career in 1992 as the Deputy Trade Mission Director at International Direct Marketing Consultants. Maria then worked as a Sales Manager at Foley's from 1994 to 1997, followed by a role as Sales Manager at Parisian from 1997 to 2001. From 2001 to 2007, Maria served as the Human Resources Manager at Saks Incorporated. Maria then joined Belk in 2007 as the Human Resources/Operations Manager until 2011. Since 2011, Maria has been working at Hibbett Sports, where they served as the Regional Human Resources Manager from 2011 to 2012, Senior Human Resources Generalist from 2012 to 2014, Director of Compensation and Benefits from 2014 to 2020, and currently holds the position of Senior Director, Human Resources.

Maria Norton, SPHR-CA, holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Math & Philosophy from Vanderbilt University. Maria has also obtained additional certifications in Effective Listening, Business Ethics, Cultivating Cultural Competence and Inclusion, as well as the SHRM-SP and SPHR-CA certifications.
