Mathew Newton

Mathew Newton is an experienced digital and content professional with a strong background in sports journalism. Currently serving as the Head of Digital & Content at Hibernian Football Club since June 2021, Mathew previously held the position of Digital Lead at Leicester City Football Club and Digital Executive at both Celtic Football Club and Hull FC. Early career roles include Multimedia Executive at Celtic Football Club, Media Executive at Hull FC, and Media Assistant at Hull Kingston Rovers and Bradford Bulls. Mathew began as a Rugby League Correspondent and Match Reporter for League Weekly. Academic qualifications include a BA (Hons) in Sports Journalism from The University of Huddersfield and A-levels from Longcroft School & Performing Arts College Sixth Form.
