Chris Kirby

Chris Kirby has a diverse work experience in the legal field. Chris has served as the Vice President & General Counsel - Intellectual Property at HID, where they led a team of eight to provide general corporate and IP counsel. Prior to that, they worked as the North America Legal (General) Counsel at Diebold Nixdorf and as the Senior Patent Counsel at Zimmer, Inc. Additionally, Chris has experience in the academic sector, having served as the Director of the Office of Technology Ventures at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio. Chris began their career as a Patent Agent and Technology Specialist at Fish & Richardson P.C.

Chris Kirby has a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree from Wake Forest University, a Master of Science (M.S.) degree from the University of Arizona, a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree from the University of Arizona College of Medicine – Tucson, and is a Post-Doctoral Fellow in Physiology & Cell Biology from The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston (UTHealth Houston). Chris also holds a Doctor of Law (J.D.), cum laude degree from the University of Houston Law Center.
