Christine Trudeau is an experienced journalist and educator specializing in Indigenous affairs and media. Currently working as a freelance writer and contributing editor at High Country News since March 2021, Christine also served as a reporter for Heyday's News From Native California from September 2023 to September 2024. In academia, Christine has taught courses in Indigenous journalism and diversity in media at the Institute of American Indian Arts and the University of Montana School of Journalism. Previous roles include freelance reporting for Koahnic Broadcast Corporation and NPR, with a focus on issues impacting Indigenous communities, including coverage of COVID-19. Christine holds a Master's degree in Digital and Radio Broadcast Journalism from Columbia University and a Bachelor's degree in Creative Writing from the Institute of American Indian Arts.
