Dr. Ruth Helen Faram

Dr. Ruth Helen Faram began their career in 2002 as a Lab Trainee at Rother Valley College & Doncaster College. Dr. Ruth Helen then went on to earn their BSc. Neuroscience (Hons) from University College London in 2005. In 2007, they became a Cell Biologist - Neurodegenerative Disease at the Institute of Neurology UCL. In 2008, they joined the University of Oxford Medical Sciences Training Centre as a Tutor and Practical Lead, Postdoctoral Researcher, D.Phil (PhD) in Anatomical Neuropharmacology and M.Sc. Pharmacology. In 2011, they became a Writer and Editor for the New Collection Journal at New College, University of Oxford. In 2013, they joined the Department of Physiology, Anatomy & Genetics - University of Oxford as a Post-Doctoral Research Scientist, working with human induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSCs) of healthy and disease patient lines to research the genetic and molecular significance of tau and amyloid proteins associated with Alzheimer's Disease. Dr. Ruth Helen also joined the IMI-StemBANCC as a Stem Cell Scientist, developing new medicines based on animal cells. In 2016, they became a Post-Doctoral Senior Research Scientist at the University of Oxford, NDORMS. In 2018, they took maternity leave with Full Time Mamma. In 2019, they became Co-Founder & Chief Scientific Officer, Head of R&D and Senior Stem Cell Scientist at HigherSteaks.

Dr. Ruth Helen Faram's education history includes studying at the University of Oxford and UCL, as well as completing A Levels at Rother Valley College between 2002 and 2005, with a focus on Biology, Chemistry, Psychology, and English.
