About Us Highland Electric Fleets is a comprehensive turnkey solutions provider that delivers electric school buses (EVSB) to school districts and third-party managed fleet providers (3PMs).

We offer a model involving financing, infrastructure, vehicle deployment, and maintenance in an easily digestible, economic format that enables EVSB acquisition at traditional diesel cost of ownership.

We aim to mitigate risk for our customers, increase EVSB market penetration, and deliver positive impacts across a broad spectrum of stakeholders: students, communities, school districts, fleet operators, manufacturers, and utilities.

The Director, Project Execution will lead the team responsible for delivery of EVSE infrastructure projects across all markets and geographies. The Director, Project Execution will also drive excellence in Highland’s contractor management, project/construction management, and commissioning/closeout functions.

They will prioritize and lead policy, process, and system initiatives to improve project execution effectiveness and efficiency. The role will report directly to the Vice President, Development and Construction. This role has a 10%-15% travel expectation.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the on time and on budget delivery of electric vehicle infrastructure projects
  • Lead the evolution and standardization of project management practice
  • Establish project closeout and commissioning center of excellence
  • Develop and drive excellence through the preferred contractor program
  • Build out construction standards and best practices
  • Lead project management software selection and implementation
  • Support creation of project design specifications and engineering packages
  • Support creation of contract execution handoff processes
  • Support the evaluation of new equipment and software applications
  • Support cross functional efficiency and effectiveness initiatives

Qualifications

  • 10+ years office based professional experience OR a Bachelor’s Degree in technical field and 6+ years office based professional experience
  • 6+ years leading teams, both directly and indirectly
  • 4+ years leading engineering and construction teams
  • 3+ years managing engineering and construction projects
  • 2+ years of EV charging infrastructure specific experience
  • Renewable energy project experience a plus (solar, storage, microgrid)
  • Direct experience utilizing one, and preferably more, project management software tools
