Tianwei

Tianwei Ma has extensive work experience in the pharmaceutical industry. They started their career in 2000 as a Principal Research Scientist at Eli Lilly and Company, where they worked until 2011. During this time, they also served as the Chemistry Research Director at the Lilly China Research and Development Center from 2011 to 2017. In 2018, Ma briefly worked as a Research Advisor at Eli Lilly China before moving on to become the VP of small molecule drug discovery and external collaboration at PegBio Co. Ltd. Their next role was as the Vice President and Head of Chemistry at BioFront Therapeutics, a position they held from 2019 to 2023. Currently, Ma is the Vice President of Discovery Research at HighTide Therapeutics, a role that they have held since 2023.

Tianwei Ma holds a Bachelor's degree in Organic Chemistry from Nankai University, which was obtained from 1985 to 1989. From 1989 to 1992, Ma pursued a Master's degree in Medicinal Chemistry at Beijing Medical University. Later, from 1992 to 1997, Ma attended The University of Georgia for a Ph.D. in Medicinal Chemistry. Finally, Ma completed a Postdoctoral fellowship in Organic Chemistry at the University of Michigan from 1997 to 1998.
