Samer started their career at Regional Transportation District in 1989, where they worked as a Project Engineer/Manager until 1995. samer then joined Regional Transportation District again in 1996 as a Manager of Construction, overseeing major capital improvement projects including a 177 million-dollar light rail project in Denver.
In 2000, Samer moved to STV as a Construction Manager, providing consultation services for Houston's METRO in implementing its first light rail project. From 2002 to 2004, they worked at Sound Transit as the Manager of Construction, leading the construction of Seattle's first light rail system.
In 2004, Samer joined Hill International, Inc. as a Construction Manager for transportation projects and also providing consultation to Chinese CITIC for their rail projects in the GCC. samer later served as the Vice President/General Manager of Abu Dhabi Operations, overseeing landmark projects including Etihad Towers and Adnoc HQ. samer then became the Vice President - Head of Rail and Infrastructure, managing the rail sector globally and leading the business development efforts.
Lastly, Samer held the position of Senior Vice President - Abu Dhabi Operations at Hill International, in charge of the Abu Dhabi operations and managing projects such as the Midfield Terminal and ADNOC projects.

Samer Tamimi received their Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Jordan Amman in 1983. samer continued their education at the University of Colorado Boulder, where they earned a Master's Degree in Civil Engineering from 1984 to 1986. Samer then pursued a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Civil Engineering from the University of Colorado Boulder, completing their studies from 1986 to 1989.
