Christopher Aakre, PhD

Christopher Aakre, PhD has a diverse work experience spanning several companies. Christopher is currently serving as the Vice President of Program Management at HilleVax, a position they have held since June 2022. Prior to this role, they held the position of Senior Director of Business Development and Operations at HilleVax from February 2021 to May 2022.

Before joining HilleVax, Christopher worked at The Boston Consulting Group (BCG) from 2015 to 2021. Christopher held various roles at BCG, including Principal from 2019 to 2021, Project Leader from 2017 to 2019, and Consultant from 2015 to 2017. Christopher'sexpertise lies in corporate strategy with a focus on biopharma. During their time at BCG, they collaborated with C-suite and VP-level leadership to make resource allocation decisions for organizations with market capitalizations exceeding $100 billion. Christopher led multiple high-profile projects in commercial, marketing, and R&D, contributing to strategic tradeoffs and value creation.

Christopher's career began at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in 2009, where they worked as a Ph.D. Student until 2015.

Christopher Aakre, PhD, received their Bachelor of Science degree in Biological Sciences from Stanford University, where they studied from 2004 to 2008. Following their undergraduate studies, they pursued their passion for Microbiology at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, where they obtained their Ph.D. in 2015.
