Alex Adamson

Alex Adamson has a diverse work experience spanning several industries. They began their career as an Analyst/Programmer at Scottish Widows in 1987 and eventually became an IT Project Manager at Standard Life, where they managed teams and resolved system problems. In 2005, Alex joined the Scottish Civic Trust as the Buildings at Risk Project Manager, responsible for managing the Buildings at Risk Register and a team of seven staff. They then moved on to RCAHMS in 2011, working as a Project Manager and Program Manager, focusing on improving survey data and data access within Canmore. In 2015, Alex joined Historic Environment Scotland, starting as a Program and Project Manager and later served as the Deputy Head of Survey & Recording (Data Management) and the Heritage Hub Product Owner. Additionally, Alex has also worked as a Guest Lecturer at The University of Dundee, lecturing on urban conservation.

Alex Adamson obtained a Master's degree in European Urban Conservation from the University of Dundee in 2004-2005. Prior to that, from 1983 to 1987, Alex pursued a Master of Arts (MA) degree in History from The University of Edinburgh.
