Simone da Luz Taylor has a diverse work experience in various fields. Simone started working as an Advertising Copywriter at Osvaldo Travassos Publicidade in 1986. Later, they worked as an English Second Language Instructor at Asset Idiomas from 1992 to 1993 and as an English Second Language Instructor and Language Consultant at Wizard Idiomas from 1993 to 1995.

In 1995, Simone began their career as a Freelance Translator, specializing in Brazilian Portuguese and English. Their tasks included subtitling, dubbing adaptation, comics, QC, song adaptation, transcreation, SDH, and PLDL. Simone focused on subjects such as History and heritage, steampunk, autism, and special needs.

From 1999 to 2001, they worked at ICLP International Customer Loyalty Programme as a Customer Service Representative and Language Consultant, where they handled international clients and performed various functions like customer service, sales, data capture, complaints, market research, and translations.

In 2014, Simone joined Historic Royal Palaces as a Volunteer and later became a Public Engagement Assistant. Their responsibilities included managing school sessions, family learning activities, events, workshops, and collection conservation and care.

Currently, Simone works as a Fiction Writer in their own Freelance Writing Services.

Simone also attended a ¡QuijoTe! course specializing in Comics translation from Spanish to Brazilian Portuguese.

Simone is currently pursuing an Advanced Subtitling and Introduction to Subtitling degree at UCL since an unspecified start year, with an expected end year of 2023.
