Gary Peterson

North America Chief Strategy Officer (cso) & EVP at Hitachi Solutions America

Gary Peterson has a diverse work experience spanning several companies and roles. Gary began their career at the Port of Portland, where they held various finance, financial planning, strategic planning, and systems positions from 1987 to 1997.

Gary then transitioned to JD Edwards, starting as a marketing manager and later becoming an account executive, where they successfully sold to the public sector and the CPG industry in the western US from 1997 to 2001.

In 2001, they joined IBM as the Director of Business Development, responsible for J.D. Edwards and various consulting practices. After that, they co-founded Iteration2 in 2004, growing it into a profitable and high-growth company.

In 2007, Peterson joined Hitachi Consulting as a Vice President, where they maintained the CFO role during the transition and merger integration period. Gary was also responsible for the growth and profitability of the Microsoft Dynamics practice and the Field Service Automation software solution and services team until 2012.

From 2012 to 2014, they served as the Senior Vice President at Hitachi Solutions America, Ltd., focusing on the global growth and profitability of the Hitachi Solution's Microsoft Dynamics CRM practice. The acquisition of Customer Effective helped Hitachi Solutions become the largest Microsoft CRM Partner in the US.

In 2014, Peterson became the Executive Vice President at Hitachi Solutions America, responsible for North American Strategy and Corporate Development. Gary also served as the North America Chief Strategy Officer from April 2021, responsible for developing, managing, and executing the company's strategic aspects. Gary works closely with the board of directors and senior leadership team to guide the company through the planning process.

Throughout their career, Peterson has demonstrated significant achievements in growing companies, acquiring awards, and driving revenue growth.

Gary Peterson completed their Bachelor of Business Administration (B.B.A.) degree in Finance and Marketing from Lewis & Clark College from 1984 to 1988. Gary then pursued further education and obtained a Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) degree in Business Management, Finance, and Marketing from the University of Portland from 1990 to 1994.
