Sophia Yap

Sophia P.K. Yap is a seasoned legal and compliance professional with extensive experience in various roles across multiple organizations. Currently serving as Group General Counsel at HKBN since June 2022, Sophia also contributes as Executive Producer and Special Advisor for Friday Beyond Spotlights and co-founded TechResponse to Covid-19 and Ampower Talent Institute, focusing on COVID-19 app development and STEM education for underprivileged youth, respectively. Previous positions include General Counsel and Chief Investment Officer at Trackmore Ventures, Global Deputy Chief Ethics & Compliance Officer at CBRE, and Senior Vice-President & General Counsel in Private Equity. Recognized for contributions to legal compliance and ethics, Sophia has received several awards and has been an active speaker at various legal forums. Academic qualifications include a Bachelor of Laws and a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Adelaide, along with a Graduate Certificate in Legal Practice from the University of South Australia.
