Vice President, Diversity And Inclusion at Hockey Canada

Irfan Chaudhry has a diverse work experience spanning various organizations and roles. Irfan is currently serving as the Vice President of Diversity and Inclusion at Hockey Canada starting from April 2023. Prior to this, they have worked at MacEwan University, where they held the positions of Lecturer and Director of the Office of Human Rights, Diversity, and Equity between September 2010 and March 2023. Chaudhry has also been a Contributor at CBC since June 2015, writing opinion pieces and appearing on feature interviews related to hate, bias, and discrimination. At NorQuest College, they served as a Sociology Instructor (online) from September 2009 to April 2023. Irfan worked as an Intelligence and Investigations specialist at Oilers Entertainment Group from September 2016 to February 2018. Chaudhry has also gained experience in multicultural relations and race relations as a Project Coordinator and Race Relations Specialist at the City of Edmonton from 2011 to 2016. Additionally, they worked as a Criminal Intelligence Analyst at the Edmonton Police Service from 2009 to 2012. Chaudhry began their career as a Program Assistant intern at both the Government of Canada in 2008 and the Government of Alberta in 2006, focusing on victim support and crime prevention programs, respectively.

Irfan Chaudhry's education history includes various degrees and certifications from different universities. In 2001, they attended MacEwan University and pursued a University transfer in Sociology. From 2002 to 2006, they earned a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Sociology from the University of Alberta. Irfan continued their studies at the same university and completed a Master of Arts (M.A.) in Criminal Justice from 2006 to 2008. In 2012, Irfan Chaudhry began their Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) program in Criminology at the University of Alberta, which they completed in 2014. In 2016, they attended Ryerson University to gain expertise in Social Media Research Methods through the Social Media Lab. In 2019, they obtained a Leadership Essentials certificate from the Alberta School of Business, University of Alberta, focusing on Business Administration, Management, and Operations. Lastly, in 2022, they completed an Advanced Certificate in Workplace Investigations from York University - Osgoode Hall Law School.
