Maria Stefanie Dwiyanti

Maria Stefanie Dwiyanti is an accomplished academic with a focus on plant genetics. Currently serving as an Assistant Professor at Hokkaido University since October 2016, Maria's research emphasizes the genetic analysis of high vitamin E content in soybean and wild soybean, while actively seeking collaboration on orphan and underutilized crops. Prior to this role, Maria worked as a Postdoctoral Fellow at the International Rice Research Institute, where the development of trait-specific single nucleotide polymorphism markers for grain quality and stress tolerance in rice was a key responsibility. Earlier experience includes a position as a Postdoctoral researcher at Hokkaido University's Field Science Center for Northern Biosphere, isolating genes linked to lignin biosynthesis in Miscanthus sinensis. Maria holds a PhD in Plant Genetics, as well as a Master’s degree and Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture from Hokkaido University. Additionally, a background in Japanese language studies was obtained at Tokyo University of Foreign Studies.
