Shay Powers

Shay Powers, CPA, has extensive experience in tax compliance and planning, particularly within the real estate and private equity industries, having worked at HCVT since July 2013 in roles ranging from Tax Principal to Advanced Tax Staff Accountant. Responsibilities included managing tax compliance for significant asset engagements, guiding new investments through tax requirements, and resolving IRS notices. Prior to HCVT, Shay owned and operated ThriceRead Books, handling all aspects of the business while receiving positive customer feedback. Shay also contributed as a Graduate Assistant at San Diego State University and completed a Tax Internship at Holthouse Carlin & Van Trigt LLP. Educational credentials include a Master's Degree in Accountancy and a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, both from San Diego State University.
