Scott Payne has over a decade of work experience, starting their career at UC Berkeley as a Head Graduate Student Instructor and Graduate Student Researcher. Scott then joined McKinsey & Company as a Business Analyst. Following this, they worked as an Independent Consultant, serving Japanese companies on international expansion projects. During this time, they appeared on Japanese national TV for a special about tourism in Tokyo. From 2014 to 2016, they served as a Manager of Strategic Initiatives at Groupon, where they successfully launched their 2nd North American sales office and managed a cross-functional team for an innovation program.
After that, they worked as an Independent Consultant for Nordstrom, focusing on finance and loyalty marketing projects. Most recently, Scott joined Home Chef in 2019, where they held various roles including Director of Special Projects, Senior Director of Strategy & Revenue Management, VP of Retail, and VP of Retail and Product. Currently, they are serving as the Chief Product Officer at Home Chef, a role they have held since September 2022.
Scott Payne completed their education with a Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) degree with a specialization in Finance, General from Northwestern University - Kellogg School of Management in 2017. Prior to that, they pursued a Master of Science (M.S.) degree in Civil Engineering - Transportation, with a concentration in Aviation, from the University of California, Berkeley, from 2009 to 2010. Scott obtained their Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Civil and Environmental Engineering from the same institution in 2009.
