George Lauro has an extensive work experience in the technology sector. From 2007 to 2021, they have held various roles in different companies. In 2007, they founded Alteon Capital Partners with Gil Amelio, former CEO of Apple Computer. At Alteon, they served as Managing Partner and CEO, working on corporate development, capital raising, M&A, restructurings, Board and executive team building. In 2016, they joined Homee as a Board Director/Advisor, working with an Insurtech company that connects homeowners and insurance adjusters to skilled service providers. Since 2000, they have served as a Board Director of 7 public and 26 private Tech companies. In 2008, they joined Band of Angels as a Deal Screening Committee, evaluating and approving new deals for the world's premier angel group. In 2010, they joined Sensors In Motion as a Board Advisor, working with a company that produces inertial grade gyros. In 2013, they joined Corista as a Board Director. In 2017, they founded GeneWorx Capital, an Investment Bank and Technology Venture Development Firm in the Lifesciences and Synthetic Biology sectors. In 2021, they joined Tunoptix as a Member Board of Directors, working with a company that combines Metasurface silicon nitride thin films with AI/imaging algorithms. George also joined Actinia as a Board Advisor, working with a company that produces Gamma Ray, X Ray detectors utilizing proprietary halide perovskite materials. Finally, in 2005, they joined Techfarm Ventures as Managing Director- Venture Capital, investing in technology companies in the IT sector.
George Lauro holds an MBA from The Wharton School in Finance, a BSEE from Brown University in Electrical Engineering, and has completed an Aeronautical Engineering program with MIT/Draper Fellow at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
