Ponnu Jeyasingam

Mr Jeyasingam is the Chief Operating Officer (“COO”) of the Group’s Building Materials Group (“BMG”) headquartered in Singapore. He oversees the management and strategic direction of its various segments that include cement distribution, production and distribution of concrete and precast productions as well as a trading and granite division.

Mr Jeyasingam has built a respectable career with the Group, marking 40 years of experience across a range of building material businesses in both Singapore and Malaysia over the years. He first joined the Group’s foundation works and piling business, Balken Piling Singapore Pte Ltd as a manager in 1980 for 8 years before he was promoted to General Manager of Hong Leong Industries Manufacturing Ltd. overseeing the Group’s cement and concrete segments. Mr Jeyasingam was promoted to COO of BMU in 2000 until he retired in 2005 and most recently returned to this role in 2014 to guide BMU till present.

Mr Jeyasingam holds an honours degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Ceylon and is a member of the Institution of Civil Engineering, England, U.K.
