Oney P. Smith

Oney P. Smith is a seasoned educator and researcher in the field of biology, currently serving as a Professor and Co-Chair of the Department of Biology at Hood College since August 2014. With extensive experience in academia, Oney held various positions at Hood College, including Associate Professor of Biology and Graduate Program Director for the Biomedical Science Master's Degree Program. Oney also worked as a Collaborating Scientist at the USDA-ARS Foreign Disease - Weed Science Research Unit from 1993 to September 2020. Academic credentials include a Ph.D. in Entomology from Texas A&M University, a Master's Degree in Entomology from the University of Maine, and a Bachelor's Degree in Biology from the University of Vermont.
