Kirsten Barnhoorn

Kirsten Barnhoorn has extensive experience in communication and crisis management, currently serving as Vertrouwenspersoon at Hoogheemraadschap van Rijnland since 2011, where responsibilities include providing a supportive listening ear for employees facing social safety issues. As a (Bestuurs)communicatieadviseur & woordvoerder, Kirsten advises on communication matters related to stakeholder positioning and organizational policy. Additionally, in the role of Coördinator Crisiscommunicatie, strategic communication approaches are formulated based on environmental analyses during emergencies. Previous positions include temporary Team Leader of Geografische Informatiesystemen (GIS) and various communication roles, providing strategic support to management and project leaders. Prior experience includes positions in public relations and marketing at Grand Hotel Huis ter Duin and operational roles at Strandpaviljoen De Zeemeeuw and Duinrell. Kirsten holds a Bachelor's degree in Communications from Hogeschool Leiden and is currently enrolled in a Management Development program.
