Dan Shortridge

Director of Content at Hook PR & Marketing

Dan Shortridge has over 20 years of experience in communications, marketing, and journalism. Dan began their career as a reporter and copy editor for The (Salisbury, Md.) Daily Times in 1999. In 2002, they moved to The (Elyria, OH) Chronicle-Telegram as a news editor and copy editor, overseeing a six-member staff. In 2007, they joined The News Journal Media Group as a reporter and copy editor/designer. From 2012 to 2017, Dan served as the Director of Communications and Marketing for the Delaware Department of Agriculture, leading communications, public relations, and marketing initiatives. Dan then moved to the Delaware State Housing Authority as the Director of Public Relations in 2017. In 2018, they became the Public Information Officer for the Sussex Technical School District, leading media relations, website content, social media, and photography. In 2020, Dan began freelancing as an author and freelance writer/editor. In 2021, they joined Hook PR & Marketing as a Content Specialist and ResultsResumes.org as a Career Marketer & Resume Writer.

Dan Shortridge has a Master of Education in Instructional Design from Western Governors University, a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and Marketing from Western Governors University, and attended The College of Wooster. Dan also holds certifications from The National Résumé Writers' Association (NCRW), FEMA (G290), Leave No Trace Center For Outdoor Ethics, HubSpot Academy (Content Marketing Certification), and USA Archery (Level 1 Archery Instructor).
