Lorena Gepraegs

Lorena Gepraegs has a diverse work experience spanning different industries. Lorena began their career in 1997 as a Process Control Engineer at Celestica. Lorena then transitioned to the education sector, working as a Physics Teacher at VSO from 1998 to 2000. In 2004, they joined Blake, Cassels & Graydon LLP as an Associate before moving to HOOPP (Healthcare of Ontario Pension Plan) in 2007. At HOOPP, Lorena held various roles, starting as a Senior Associate Legal Counsel & Privacy Officer and eventually being promoted to Senior Legal Counsel & Privacy Officer. Lorena'sresponsibilities at HOOPP expanded further when they became Assistant Vice President, IT Security, Risk and Governance in 2018. Recently, Lorena has taken on the position of Vice President, IT Security, Risk and Governance at HOOPP. Throughout their career, Lorena has demonstrated a commitment to staff development and unlocking their potential.

Lorena Gepraegs completed a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) with First Class Honours in Materials and Metallurgical Engineering from Queen's University. Lorena also holds a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) degree from the University of Victoria. In terms of additional certifications, Lorena obtained a Pension Plan Administration Certificate from Humber College in April 2009. Lorena also has a certification in Pension & Investment Fundamentals, obtained in 2006 from the Canadian Pension & Benefits Institute / L'Institut Canadien de la Retraite et des Avantages Sociaux. In addition, Lorena was called to the Ontario Bar in June 2005 by the Law Society of Ontario.
