Job Title:       Grants Coordinator

Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree in marketing, business, non-profit management or related field and a minimum of three years of experience, or a similar combination of education and experience.

Reports to: Director of Development (DOD)

Scope: This full time salaried exempt position has responsibilities which include but are not limited to advancing Hope Center for Children’s grant funds through the writing and management of grants. The Grants Coordinator is a member of the Development Team and works closely with the CFO, finance team, and program leadership.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Research prospective funders and grant opportunities that align with Hope Center for Children’s mission.
  • Draft grants and written sponsorship applications with all applicable attachments including budgets and other supporting documentation
  • Work with HCFC program supervisors and finance team to ensure all attachments and information are collected and processed in advance of grant deadlines.
  • Manage grant calendar/database and grant awards to ensure all opportunities meet submission and reporting deadlines.
  • Manage reporting for all grant awards unless reporting is otherwise assigned.
  • Complete all grant follow-up and progress reporting to meet contract
  • Manage communication of approved grant requests to Senior Leadership
  • Assist Development Team with drafting press releases
  • Coordinate with DOD to schedule regular submissions and varied topics for press
  • Review all copy for Development invitations and other published copy to ensure consistent voice for the organization.
  • Assist with donor stewardship according to the development plan to maintain strong donor
  • Assist with HCFC’s two signature events and Child Abuse Prevention Month
  • Assist with writing fundraising appeals and acknowledgment letters as needed.

Knowledge, Skill and Experience Required: Grant writing experience required, federal grant experience preferred. Must be comfortable with conducting web searches and software needed to research grants, track grants, and complete grant reporting . Must be passionate about the HCFC mission. Must be a creative team player with strong professional writing skills. Must be comfortable with technology and have great attention to detail. Must be able to lead multiple long and short-term projects simultaneously, meeting all deadlines. The role requires strong planning and organizational skills. The duties require an understanding of and respect for fundraising principles and ethics including making ethical grant requests, as well as a strong commitment to providing the best resources for children and families served.
