Stu A. has a wealth of work experience, beginning in 2006 as a Biochemistry Research Fellow at the Welch Lab. During their time there, they used standard molecular biology techniques, microcinematography and biochemical assays to investigate the bacterium Myxococcus xanthus. Stu also designed an image analysis program (in Perl) to quantify morphological properties of a developing M. xanthus biofilm, and used the program to identify statistical differences between the morphologies of mutant strains of M. xanthus.
