Andrea Harris Mba, Chie, Pahm

Andrea Harris, MBA, CHIE, PAHM has extensive work experience in the healthcare industry. Andrea is currently working at Horizon Blue Cross Blue Shield of New Jersey as the Vice President and Chief Quality & Health Equity Officer. Andrea has held various roles within the company, including Senior Director, Chief Quality Officer and Director of Quality Assurance & Improvement Operations.

Prior to joining Horizon, Andrea worked as an Adjunct Associate Professor at Rutgers University-New Brunswick, where they taught Medicinal Chemistry at the Ernest Mario School of Pharmacy.

Before their academic career, Andrea also worked at Horizon Blue Cross Blue Shield of New Jersey, starting as a Customer Service Representative/Lead Member Services Coordinator and eventually becoming a Supervisor II/Supervisor III. In these roles, they were responsible for managing staff, ensuring exceptional customer service, and processing claims in accordance with policies and contracts.

Throughout their career, Andrea has demonstrated expertise in quality improvement, accreditation standards, and strategic project management. Andrea holds an MBA and has obtained certifications in healthcare quality management (CHIE) and healthcare management (PAHM).

Andrea Harris, MBA, CHIE, PAHM, has a comprehensive education history that spans various fields of study and degrees. Andrea began their educational journey at Saint Peter's University, where they pursued a Bachelor of Business Administration (B.B.A.) with a focus on Business Administration and Management. Andrea successfully completed their degree from 2004 to 2006.

In 2007, Andrea attended Inside Management of NJ and obtained a Supervisor Candidate Development Certificate. Andrea further enhanced their management skills in 2008 by completing the Management Development Program Certificate at DDI/Horizon BCBSNJ.

Continuing their educational pursuits, Andrea returned to Saint Peter's University in 2011 and obtained a Master of Business Administration (MBA) with a concentration in Management Information Systems, which they completed in 2012.

In 2017, Andrea attended the Horizon BPI Greenlean Program, where they earned a certification in Business Process Improvement. During the same year, they also obtained a second concentration in Risk Management for their MBA from Saint Peter's University. Additionally, they completed the Horizon Emerging Leaders Program and received a certification.

In addition to their degrees and certificates, Andrea has obtained several professional designations. Andrea earned the Professional, Academy for Health Care Management (PAHM®) designation from AHIP in April 2022. Prior to that, in June 2021, Andrea obtained the Certified Health Insurance Executive designation from AHIP. Furthermore, they completed NCQA Hedis Training from NCQA in June 2021.
