Michael McKeown has a diverse work experience spanning various industries and roles. Michael started their career in the United States Marine Corps as a Captain in Field Artillery from 1981 to 1984. Michael then worked as a Total Quality Control Specialist at Texas Instruments from 1985 to 1989, where they were responsible for training and process facilitation.
From 1989 to 1992, Michael worked at Johnson & Johnson as a Senior Training Administrator for McNeil Consumer Pharmaceuticals, designing curriculum and providing training for a high-participation team organization. Michael then became an HR Manager at Johnson & Johnson Merck, where they helped create a self-directed work team structure and implemented a Pay for Knowledge compensation system from 1992 to 1995.
Starting in 1995, Michael became an Owner and Principal Consultant at Organizational Change Strategies, specializing in organization, team, and leadership development for various clients including Dell, Applied Materials, and Samsung Semiconductor. Michael also presented at the International Conference on Work Teams in 1998.
In 1999, Michael joined Durham School Services as the Director of Organizational Development, overseeing the company's education strategy, performance management, recruitment, and staffing. Michael also reengineered Durham University's training curriculum.
Michael'smost recent role is as the Director of People & Culture at Horseshoe Bay Resort since 2005. In this role, they are responsible for all HR functions, managing a team of eleven, and supporting over 800 employees in various operations. Michael also oversees employee housing at the resort.
Michael McKeown attended Eisenhower High School from 1974 to 1977, where they graduated with a degree in College Prep. After completing high school, they pursued higher education at the University of Oklahoma from 1977 to 1981. During this time, they obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Journalism.
