Masako Mayahara, RN, PhD, FAAN, CHPN, FPCN®, currently serves as an Associate Professor at Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis and a Professor at Goldfarb School of Nursing at Barnes-Jewish College, effective July 2023. In addition to these roles, Masako holds positions as President-Elect, Secretary/Treasurer, and Board Member at the Hospice and Palliative Nurses Association, as well as being a member of the Board of Directors and Board of Trustees for the Midwest Nursing Research Society Foundation. Previous academic roles include Associate Chairperson and Associate Professor at RUSH University Medical Center from 2010 to July 2023. Masako's consulting experience includes a tenure as Comprehensive Pain Management Consultant at Hospice Partners and Nurse Case Manager at Rush Hospice Partners. Educationally, Masako earned a Ph.D. in Nursing Science from the University of Illinois Chicago, alongside a Master's Degree and Bachelor's Degree in Community Health Nursing and Nursing Science from Rush University.
