Vanessa R commenced their career as a GEAR UP Student Advocate at Northeastern Illinois University, providing guidance and advocacy for students. Vanessa then held roles such as Student CORPS at the University of Illinois at Chicago and Insurance Compliance Administrator at the State of Illinois Workers' Compensation Commission. Following which, Vanessa completed their Master of Healthcare Administration at the University of Illinois Chicago and engaged in various healthcare roles at organizations like CommunityHealth and Advocate Aurora Health. Vanessa currently serves as the System Manager for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion at Hospital Sisters Health System, overseeing DEI functions and reporting to the VP of HR Operations.
