Brent Thomas has a diverse work experience spanning several industries. Brent began their career in 1983 at Ernst & Young, where they worked in roles related to auditing, finance, and tax. In 1987, they joined PwC as an auditor before transitioning to their role as a Funds Manager at Bank of America in 1989. Brent Thomas then moved to House of Travel Holdings Limited in 1998, where they served as the Chief Operating Officer. In 2015, they joined the Travel Agents Association of NZ (TAANZ) as a Director and later became the President in 2019. Overall, Brent Thomas has demonstrated a strong skill set in finance, auditing, and operations throughout their career.

Brent Thomas attended the University of Canterbury from 1980 to 1982, where they obtained a Bachelor of Commerce (B.Com.) degree in Business/Commerce, General.
