Karen Weller

Karen Weller has more than 25 years of experience in accounting, finance, treasury, and operations. Prior to joining Housing Trust Group, she served as Vice President of Accounting for The Related Group, a large developer of condo, market-rate rental, and affordable housing in South Florida, South America, and Central America. Karen has a broad range of experience ranging from treasury and finance positions at Royal Caribbean Cruises to structuring complex commercial mortgage-backed securitizations, subordinated commercial mortgage loans, and public debt offerings at LNR Property. Prior to these positions, Karen spent 12 years with Deloitte & Touche where she audited and provided consulting services to clients mainly in the hospitality and banking sectors.

While at Deloitte, Karen was able to take advantage of their international secondment program to work in the Caribbean and Central Europe before making a permanent home in South Florida. Karen is a Certified Public Accountant and a Certified Treasury Professional. She also holds a Chartered Professional Accountant designation from Canada, where she earned her Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Calgary.
