Amarchandra Maharaj

Amarchandra Maharaj is a seasoned safety professional with extensive experience in health, safety, security, and environmental (HSSE) roles. Currently serving as a Safety Officer for the City of Houston since June 2023, Amarchandra also holds a position as an HSSE Advisor/Consultant at Guidepoint since December 2020. Previous roles include Head of HSSE at POWERGEN from January 2013 to October 2017 and HSE Manager at CEMEX Trinidad Cement Limited from July 2007 to December 2012. Amarchandra began the career as an Operations Technical Specialist at PCS Nitrogen, working there for over 26 years, from May 1981 to July 2007. Amarchandra earned a BSc in Occupational Safety, Health & Environment from SBCS/UOG between 2008 and 2011, following education at Iere High School from 1970 to 1975.
