Keith Syson Chan

Professor & Director, Translational Research @ Urology; Program Lead, Innovative Therapeutics at Houston Methodist

Keith Syson Chan currently serves as a Professor and Director of Translational Research at Houston Methodist, where efforts focus on expediting translational cancer research through the CPRIT established investigator recruitment grant. Previously, at Cedars-Sinai, Syson Chan contributed as a Professor and Associate Professor, developing innovative therapeutic strategies for targeting tumor microenvironments and facilitating industrial collaborations through unique bladder tumor models. Prior experience at Baylor College of Medicine includes tenured Associate Professor and Assistant Professor roles, with notable achievements in translating adjuvant therapies to clinical trials and advancing prognostic markers in clinical research. Syson Chan's educational background includes a Postdoctoral Fellowship at Stanford University, a Ph.D. in Molecular Carcinogenesis from UT MD Anderson Cancer Center, and a Bachelor's degree from Queen's University.
