Aziz Bookwala

Aziz Bookwala has a diverse work experience spanning multiple companies and roles. Their most recent position was as the CTO of houza, starting in October 2020. Prior to that, they were a Co-Founder at The Bored Game Company since August 2018.

Before that, Aziz worked at dubizzle, where they held various roles including Chief Architect (CTO) from October 2017 to July 2020, Technical Team Lead from July 2014 to October 2017, and Software Engineer from October 2012 to July 2014. During their time at dubizzle, they played an integral role in introducing service-oriented architecture and building REST APIs using technologies like Django and Bottle.

Earlier in their career, Aziz worked as a Software Developer at YourNextLeap from June 2011 to August 2012. Aziz also co-founded Mantik Solutions, a software consultancy, where they served as a co-founder and developer from March 2010 to March 2011. Additionally, they had a brief stint at Digital Canvas where they gained experience with Python and worked on a project involving data processing from the Twitter API.

Aziz Bookwala completed their Bachelor of Engineering degree in Information Technology from Savitribai Phule Pune University, from 2006 to 2010. Prior to that, they attended The Millenium School in Dubai from 2004 to 2006. Aziz also holds a certificate in Functional Programming Principles in Scala, which they obtained from Coursera Verified Certificates in June 2014.
