Kai Luo

Principal Scientist at Hovione

Kai Luo has a diverse work experience in the field of analytical chemistry and research. Starting in 2000, they conducted graduate and undergraduate research at Zhongshan(Sun Yat-sen) University, focusing on the synthesis of anti-infection nanocomposites. In 2006, they interned at DIC Corporation in the printing inks industry. From 2007 to 2011, Kai Luo worked as a Graduate Researcher at the University at Buffalo, gaining expertise in chemical synthesis, formulation optimization, and analytical techniques such as HPLC, GC, LC-MS, GC-MS, and SFC. In 2012, they worked as a Research Scientist at Columbia University, where they contributed to drug development through analytical methodologies and block copolymer synthesis. Later in 2012, they joined Integrated Analytical Laboratories as a Senior Scientist. Most recently, Kai Luo has been working at Hovione since 2014, progressing through roles as an Analytical Development Chemist, Senior Analytical Chemist, and currently as a Principal Scientist.

Kai Luo obtained a Ph.D in polymer chemistry from the University at Buffalo, SUNY, during the period of 2007 to 2011. Prior to that, from 2004 to 2006, they completed their M.S. in polymer chemistry from Zhongshan(Sun Yat-sen) University. Furthermore, they earned a B.S. in material science from Zhongshan(Sun Yat-sen) University from 2000 to 2004.
