Ruth Hartgen

Ruth Hartgen, PHR, CIR has extensive work experience in various HR roles. Ruth is currently serving as the Director of Human Resources at the HR Certification Institute - HRCI, where they are responsible for managing talent acquisition, compensation and benefits administration, performance management administration, and policy compliance. Prior to this, Ruth worked as an HR Manager at The Columbia Group for 10 years, where they managed benefit programs, ACA-related practices, and federal compliance reporting. Ruth also served as a Corporate Recruiter at STG International, Inc. and as a Recruiter at The JBG Companies. Earlier in their career, Ruth worked as a Human Resources Specialist at Reading Is Fundamental and as a Marketing Intern at Baltimore Marriott Inner Harbor.

Ruth Hartgen, PHR, CIR has a Bachelor of Science degree in Human Resources Management and Marketing from the University of Maryland. In addition to their degree, they have obtained several certifications including a Professional in Human Resources (PHR®) certification from the HR Certification Institute, a Certified Internet Recruiter certification from AIRS, an ADP Company, and they are currently working towards becoming an Integrative Nutrition Health Coach through the Institute for Integrative Nutrition.
