Bob Shumate

Bob Shumate has a diverse work experience spanning several industries and roles. Bob began their career as a Quality Engineer at Allied-Signal FM&T in 1980 before moving on to work as a Configuration Engineer at DIT-MCO International. At AlliedSignal Commercial & General Aviation, Bob served as a Component and Manufacturing Engineer, where they collaborated with design engineers, suppliers, and manufacturing to select and define components for aircraft avionics.

Bob then took on the role of Senior Component/Reliability Engineer at Nellcor, where they supported the design and development of medical devices such as pulse oximeters and respiratory monitors. Bob performed reliability analysis, safety testing, and component sourcing for these devices.

Afterwards, Bob joined Honeywell Aerospace as a Commodity Electrical Engineer, where they re-established electrical quality processes after the relocation of the business. Bob then ventured into entrepreneurship and managed their own hardware store, Olathe Hardware, Inc., overseeing daily operations, employee management, and business accounts.

Bob later worked as the Quality Assurance & Compliance Manager at Transworld Products - China & Taiwan Import Product Sourcing, where they provided guidance to managers and inspectors in Asian countries to ensure product quality and compliance with various standards.

At Actronix Inc., Bob served as the V.P. of Engineering, leading project teams in developing manufacturing processes for cables and cable harness assemblies. Bob also provided technical support to manufacturing and collaborated with customers to address design issues and ensure conformance to requirements.

At DIT-MCO International, Bob held the position of Director of Special Products Group (SPG), where they oversaw the design and production of fixtures, interconnect cabling, carts, and support structures for DIT-MCO analyzers.

Currently, Bob is working as a Principal Engineer at HTC Global Services, where they are involved in providing part shortage coordination and solutions in automotive manufacturing as a contractor for Ford Motor Company.

Throughout their career, Bob has showcased their expertise in areas such as quality assurance, project leadership, technical support, and process improvement.

Bob Shumate holds a Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Missouri-Columbia and a Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering from the Missouri University of Science and Technology. Bob has also obtained certifications in LinkedIn Premium Quick Tips from LinkedIn and Regulatory Affairs Certified from the Regulatory Affairs Professionals Society (RAPS).
