Peter Amelunxen

As Vice President of Technical Services, Peter oversees Hudbay's technical and operational processes. In this capacity he is responsible for managing internal and external project review, due diligence processes, project and operational governance, reporting and operational risk management. All engineering and geological standards and reporting responsibilities also fall within his mandate. Peter has experience working in various jurisdictions and is fluent in Spanish and English. He worked for 20 years in diverse roles including consulting, grinding and flotation circuit modeling, plant operations (Freeport McMoran), engineering, and laboratory testing and has authored many papers on the testing, modeling, and design of mineral processing systems. Peter completed his Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering at the University of Arizona, and his Master's degree in Mining, Metals, and Materials Engineering at McGill University.
