Michele Morris

Director of Workforce Development at HUDSON-ALPHA INSTITUTE FOR BIOTECHNOLOGY

Ms. Morris serves as the Director of Workforce Development for Educational Outreach at HudsonAlpha Institute. She joined the Institute in 2009. Ms. Morris is responsible for building a pipeline of activities and learning opportunities to support workforce needs in genetics, genomics, and biotechnology. She directs the BioTrain Summer Internship program, multi-week programs for high school students, and a bioinformatics research program for undergraduates. These programs are designed to inspire and motivate students to pursue careers in science and persist in achieving that goal. She earned a BA in Communications from Winthrop University, a BS in Biological Sciences from the University of Alabama in Huntsville (UAH) and is a doctoral candidate in Biotechnology Science and Engineering at UAH.
