Writing Teacher at Hugo House

Margot Leitman is an accomplished professor at the Los Angeles Film School since November 2022 and serves as a witness consultant for a law firm, where effective storytelling techniques are applied to enhance case narratives. As a writing teacher at Hugo House since February 2019, Margot specializes in storytelling and comedic memoir writing. An established author, Margot has published "Long Story Short, the Only Storytelling Guide You'll Ever Need" and its follow-up, "What's Your Story?" As a freelancer since April 2011, Margot's writing contributions span various prestigious publications and include TV writing for DreamWorks TV and Hallmark Channel. Margot developed a comedy training program as a creative consultant at Levity Live between January 2023 and January 2024 and has extensive experience teaching storytelling at The Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre. Margot's tenure as a story scout for This American Life included crafting pitches and coaching subjects for radio segments. Educational background includes a BA in Drama and Dramatics/Theatre Arts from Ithaca College and studies at The New School.
